life update

Heyas:

I know its been a while but life sometimes is kinda crazy like that. I dunno if there is still anyone reading this but here goes.

Work.. Well we lost a major league contract, sigh, so it looks like my income is about to be rather drastically cut. I am contemplating the future and the possibility of having to get a second job. we shall wait and see on that front.

My mom, who is 87 and living in an assisted living facility here in Largo due to her dementia, fell last Wednesday. They took her to the hospital and it turns out she fractured her left shoulder, two ribs and her hip. The doctor called me and I authorized the surgery on Thursday. It was an orthoscopic procedure where he put in 4 screws and a small plate across the fracture to help it mend. She is currently in a rehabilitation hospital where her physical theray will begin on Monday. Calafin and I visited her last night and helped get her settled in with a couple plushy teddy bears and a dolphin. They tell me it will be 2 to 3 weeks for her to get ambulatory enough to go back to her own place.

So, not to preach or anything but please..take care of your parents while you have them. I hear furs all the time complaining and bad mouthing..well who raised you? fed you? clothed you ? sent you to school or even college? and perhaps is still doing so? Not to mention all the extras like vacations and maybe even your first car? My mom looks so frail right now, and it has several times brought this big orca close to tears.

Now for something completely different(TM)...

The 27h of October is the second anniversary of mine and calafins wedding! I dunnno what to do for him, but I know he has something in mind for me. We went out for a nice dinner last night and I told him that was my early gift for him. We shall see..we have been together for 10 years now.

Taku and I are staying busy on Fursuits as well and thats lotsa fun!Curently we are making plans to attend FC in January.

Hi all:

Just making a quick post in case anyone is still reading..

We have had an interesting year here in Texas, between the furmeets in Arlington, Furry Fiesta and our new friends esp leo and kurisu, we will miss everyone. But my mother is getting older and her Alzheimer is progressing so I must go.

There is a job waiting for me and cal and taku are both transferring and we are bringing a foxy boi with us, it will be good to see our old friends again.

So the adventure resumes , I guess life isn't meant to be long and boring and such, its taking every cent I can muster to get us there, but Lakeland or more specifically Mulberry is a very nice area and this time im staying and taking care of/being with my mom for as long as she has left.

So much so fast it makes my head spin at times!

Ok so as of july20 or so we will be hitting the road..myself, my mate Calafin , our pet dwaggy Taku, hi s mom and possibly our foxboi, heading back home..yes home to Florida. Lakeland to be exact its between Tampa and Orlando, about 45 minutes from the Gulf..i miss teh ocean so much!

Texas id hot , dry and so unfriendly..everyone is so self centered and so right wing as to be almost radical. thetraffic here is nuts in the metroplex, drivers are rude and even amost suicidal it seems! I wont miss it at all.

I will however miss the few friends we didi make, specifically Leo and Kurisu..but they are always welcome to come visit us.

ok time to resume packing!

Florida Trip, Mothers Day

Well it was a necessary trip and I feel some bit of healing and closure was attained. Calafin and I arrived late Thursday night and crashed hard , long work day and flight will do that. Friday we got up and I got the car, a nice blue Dodge Avenger and we went to Tampa. We went to Regal Palms, the facility taking care of my mom, and found her napping in her room. She was so surprised, though it did take her a few minutes to remember who we were. After hugs and kisses we gave her her Mother'sday gift, a plush tiger and a digital picture frame which we had loaded with pictures of us all from Texas. We then took her outto eat and for a ride to the beach then she was tired so we took her back home.

That evening we hooked up with some phinny friends we wanted to meet,Pyrophin and Micksam7, who just happenned to be down at the same time! We met up at a local mall and had some kickass burgers from Five Guys! You all rock!

Saturday we hung out in Orlando, meeting up with some very close friends and going to a local club there we used to belong to and we were welcomed back with open arms ! We had dinner at the Mongolian Grille , a new experience for me, then went back to the club..(yes that club) and partied till almost 2!

We finally woke up Sunday and drove back down to tampa to see my mom again, have a nice dinner and then we flew back home. I always knew the DFW Metroplex was huge but seeing it at night from the air gives you some better perspectives, nothing but lights and traffic as far as the eye can see! Taku and his mom were waiting for us , good to see them again!

So there you have it and if I can convey any message or lesson it is simply this:

Sunday is Mother's Day and no matter what you may think of her (or him maybe?) , you truly never realise what you have so close until it's too late. She does so much over the years we take for granted and time flies by so fast. Soon enough you either lose her , or as in my case, a disease begins to take her from you either physically or mentally.

So give your Mom a big ol hug and kiss...she is worth it and that is the best present you can ever give any mom!

Hi:

Dunno who's still reading but I know its been awhile life has been crazy. I had another tooth pulled since my last entry and then Cal started having mouth pain. Well long story short, 1500 and insurance later and he had a root canal and a new crown and filling. Money well spent as I hate to see him in any discomfort at all, but a week later it was bothering him and the same dentist did a "evaluation"> What a scam..well lets see you need two more root canals, two more pulled, 21 cavities, deep cleanings yadda yadda yadda and the guesstimate is almost 4000! They gave him a scrip for the swelling and after about a week it seems to have gone down, why did we get the root canal and filling if they may have to be pulled? I think its all a scam, they always talk about the health care system and medical costs but what about dental?

Oh well I am ranting n, at least he is out of pain and thats all I care about. Taku and I have been rather busy making fursuits , his dragon, I named Solaris is done, we just recently finished my new one Silverhooves, a Clyger..Clydesdale/tiger! The latest commission done for Taylor is also finished , I will attach a few pics if anyone is interested.

On the weekend of the 30th and May 1 and 2 Calafin and I are flying back to Florida to visit my mom in the nursing home...Im excited yet apprehensive. She has dementia and the start of Alzheimer , some times when I call her she doesn't remember who I am. We are also going to be visiting some of our friends while there so I look forwards to that.

Hi:

I dunno if anyone reads this anymore or not. Sigh our move here and my health recently have combined to conspire and make us miss FC for the first time in years. Life happens but that doesnt mean I have to like it. There are lots of nice furs here and many new friends and the monthly meet we have plus the monthly fursuit workshop that taku and I host are lots of fun!

We are prepping for furry fiesta and hope to have my new suit done by then but just to show off something I am VERY proud of..

Here is the new suit I just finished for Calafin..I cannot take all the credit Taku and I worked on it though he was my inspiration and motiovator he did the paws and feet , the body and head I did and the tail is our co invention its moveable. I never thought I could ever do anything like this but pet showed me I can he is awesome!

Christmas tree and thoughts

Its that time of year ..again

I was never much on the whole Christmas thing...it was my upbringing I guess. Cal.s family is huge on holidays andbirthdays and like I just posted I gave him a sweet bday time! I had not had a christmas tree in years, except when we lived with some friends with their kids a few years ago, and with my mom being back in florida in the care facility due to her cance rand alxheimer's I was crying the other day alot. Well Taku and his mom and Cal would have none of that cause we are family so I scrounged the money and we have a nice tree and lights outside.

Its a funny thing.. Calafin and I are Pagans, Taku also worships the old ways and tree and lights can be traces back to mid winter festivals and the hope for Spring.

Then you hear about the man being trampled to death at a Wal Mart and noone cares, the fighting for the best bargains and the one thing I HATE the Most..These TWO WORDS...

I WANT!

What do you WANT for Christmas...What Should I buy..yadda yadda yadda it makes me sick!

What do I want..that is impossible..I want my mother to be cured..I want her to know who I am again....I want to see her and know she sees me!

Im sorry I ranted it just gets me so aggravated so much materialism..so please during these holidays if you do nothing else...find time to love someone..your mom, your dad, family, a friend anyone just..appreciate a fellow humans warmth and kindness. It doesnt cost anything and is it not what this season is supposed to be?

Cals Birthday!

Hi everyone:

I know I havent posted in a while but with work and life and stuff..taking a bad fall at a recent event really hurt my side and wrist! But Yesterday was my mate Calafin's 28th birthday! We had an awesome day with our pet Taku and his mom. I baked Cal a marble cake with fudge frosting and colored sprinkles..you cant get much more gay than that! We got an awesome print of us in our wedding tuxedos as a bonus from A friend of ours that had computer parts for sale to upgrade Cal's compy. I bought them secretly and it was a bear keeping Cal from wanting to try and get them on his own! He was so happy and surprised! We had an awesome dinner and then it began..the gutting and rebuilding . Its up and operational now and suffice to say there were lots of happy phin luvins last night :) But the pics of THAT are quite personal :)

Suffice to say ..you can imagine what we were up to later from this pic hehehehe lets say he was warming up :)

Updates, phinny trip

I dunno who still reads this but if anyone does here is an update of sorts.

I have horrible teeth its genetic and confirmed, just like both my parents my bones and gums are deteriorating and will eventually lose all of them, so the decision will have to be made at some point do I just give up and let them be taken now and such or invest in preventative stuff and try and save them when it might all be a waste . I was enduring a tooth in my front upper jaw and it finally got infected and inflamed to the point I had to take antibiotics for a week before the dentist would even touch anything!So after a week of that and pain pills ..and missing the local furmeet:( I went in and the choice was like this ..

1..do a root canal put in a post and rebuild the tooth with a crown and see if it can be saved for a few years..$700
2. Extract it and get out of pain now ..$33

guess which one wins the gold medal? So I am now out of pain and minus another tooth ..though I found out that after a few days I can pleasure my phin again and he doesnt get bit by accident!

Speaking of my beloved Calafin if you are reading his LJ you know he is in California visiting his family. I insisted on this trip a month ago as he has not seen his mom and sis since our wedding last year and his dad in about 4 years! My mom with her cancer and Alzheimer's made me realize the value of time and I wanted him to go even though I cant get time off to be with him.
We talk on the phone several times a day , and that helps..if I was a dog they would say Im having separation anxiety ! It is so amazing the little day to day things you take for granted when you are together..

ok beware mushy stuff ahead....

The house is so quiet...I mean Taku and Mom are here unless hes at work but still to b not hear Cal's voice calling me even for little things.

The bedroom...man that is a biggy. We have a king sized bed for lotsa romping room but I never realized just how big it is..I haven't slept really well and last nite I rolled over in my sleep to reach for him and woke up suddenly in a momentary panic then remembered.

Dinner..the table was so empty it just didn't feel right ya know? and I have lost interest in doing much of anything for the moment but Taku is gonna help with that aspect' Tonight we are gonna work more on Cal's new fursuit Im carving the head and he is doing the paws and a rather awesome job at them I might add!

So if you are in a relationship remember to savor all the moments even the mundane ones hehehe. I know Cal will be back on wednesday and I want him to enjoy his visit heehe but my heart misses him and overrides my head at times ..esp in the middle of the night. We talked last night and he told me to go outside and look at the moon at the same time he was and I felt our link..and I heard that song " somewhere out there" from that movie Fifel and it made me cry.

Love truly is a two edged sword ..both healing and protecting and also capable of wounding :)

Its so hard to believe...next week on the 27th will be our 1 year wedding anniversary! Wow what a year its been..

goes with everything even breakfast cereal..but now that I have your attention lets try catch up..

Things haven't been all rosy since we moved here if you have been reading my mate calafin's lj and our pet Takus. The relocation was supposed to be a promotion and expand the fruit business but after a month it flopped..and the blame is all on the home office and a certain key individual..suffice to say they didn't pay the bills and reneged on the contract and we were basically hung out to dry. Soooo after that we sought other work..for a bit Taku and I did courier work but that turned into a scam with a very binding and one sided contract .

But things do look up if you stay positive...I am now a bonded courier doing Medical deliveries between doctors and labs and hospitals everything from tests to specimens to pharmaceuticals and I use their van and gas not my own. Taku has an excellent job lead and Cal is loving his supervisor job with Staples I am so very proud of him and I love him soo much! This Sunday we are going to a local indoor bowling alley/arcade and going fursuiting hopefully with some local furs!

Hurricane Ike is heading for Texas this weekend and will hit way south of us but we expect tropical force winds and rain but being a phin and from Florida big deal , its so funny watching the locals panic.

Now then I'm going to take a moment and try not to preach but this is rather important..

I hear furs alot saying things like "my mom is a bitch" or "My parents don' understand" etc...well try being a parent maybe, or seeing it from their side? There is a reason I am saying this...

My mom is now 86 and is still back in Florida living in an assisted care facility due to her alzheimer's and dementia I couldn't move her here and I miss her so much...and now that situation has been escalated.

I got a call from her doctor and from a specialist in endocrinology... I was told that her blood cell count was going way down and then up and then down and this was a symptom of what he called "senior leukemia syndrome.." her bone marrow not making sufficient red cell and white cells. The normal way to tell is with a very painful procedure called a bone marrow biopsy..they insert a large needle in your hip and draw out bone and marrow it is quite painful and he didnt know if mom would even wake up from the anestesia and if it turned out positive it would mean chemo and radiation and at her age she would definitely not survive that for very long at all and be quite uncomfortable. The alternative , which I chose, is called"supportive therapy"..they give her plasma several times a week to boost her red cell count and keep her as comfortable and maintain her quality of life as long as possible. I asked him about a time frame and of course the answer was as vague as possible.."weeks, months, years who knows it all depends on how she reacts "

So there you have it...I am here and she is there and even if I was there , there is nothing I could do . We barely make enough income here to stay afloat and I do not have any time off to go back even if I could. I told my new boss and he was very supportive and asked that I keep him informed in case I need to leave suddenly...we know what that means.

So.... all I am saying is this..try and overlook what you may or may only perceive as difficulties with parents...they are one of your best advocates and try and be supportive of you even if you may not realize that at the time.

You never know how much time you have..as a very good friend told me..we do not come with an expiration date sticker on our feet .

Ok I guess some have been reading Calafins and Taku's lj about my promotion? Well it seems that it is very very likely that as of August 1 we will be relocating the Phin pod to Dalls/Ft Worth! I am going to become regional manager for our company and be expanding our fruit service to that area. We have one chain all ready lined up I must begin selling it into other stores.

I left on wednesday with the vP of our company to fly to Dallas. Bya fluke of circumstances the flight changed gates and we had to run but there was another guy who treated the check in clerk rudely and because we were nice and understanding he upgraded us to first class! WOW! I never got to fly in those seats big and comfy, open bar and a real meal! During the flight I kept hearing a kitten mewing and it got louder I thought it was a computer game but the stewardess came n the speaker and said" will the owner of this cat please come forwards and claim it!" There it was a pretty tabby cat and this little girl came up and took it .lol! That was memorable!

So we landed got the car , I picked it out a Chevy HHR , only 3500 miles on it! Black with a grey leather interior nice! We drove about to scope out the area and went to this mall the Grapevine Mall it was HUGE! Then we checked in did some route plans and had dinner at the rain forest cafe..a cool furry restaurant! They are based on the Amazon Rain Forest, there are trees and flowers and animatronic gorillas and elephants and the food is awesome.

Wednesday night was a bummer..I missed my family and most of all I missed my beloved Calafin! A beautiful room a king bed and noone in it ! I had my laptop and we chatted but its just not the same..I dont care what anyone says IM cannot replace IRL having your mate in your arms! I basically had to have some wine and relax to sleep.

Thursday was a whirlwind and very productive, we met with suppliers in the area, met with the regional VP for our main customer, met with another supplier and then we went up to the town of Grapevine for dinner. This place has wineries and we found one called Tastings. They have wine all along the wall and you buy a debit card and then you choose , you place a glass under the wine you want and can buy either 1 ounce to taste, 4 oz half glass or 8 oz glass. It was fun and we also had a nice meal to n boot! I slept a lil better that night after chatting with Cal and Taku but it was still so lonely.

Friday morning the President flew out and we met him, took him on the tour and around the area, had a nice lunch and then time to fly home. It was bumpy we had to go around some thunderstorms but we got home. In the terminal was the most wonderful sight , our pet Taku but also mybeloved Phin! I ran up to them hugs all around and I didnt care I gave Cal a huge series of wet kisses some people stared but I dont care! Let people stare, love is love is love , even my boss smiled. (yes btw I am out of the closet )Cal gave me a box of raspberry truffles and a white chocolate mocha!

We went out to dinner together and then came home , and I first saw Takus present to himself with his stimulus check he got a ps3! Then on my desk what a shock...a brand new 19 in flat panel! WOW its sweet and my eyes dont hurt now when I work! Im so amazed!

So now on with the plans and westward ho!

One thing I have relearned..in the past when I was alone before Calafin I swore I would always stay alone and never need anyone again..I was wrong!!!! We all need someone we all need family !

Wish us luck and btw if any furs live in the Dallas area and read this I will be needing drivers in the very near future!

Hi All:

I know I haven't posted in a while, between my teeth incident(thanks for all the concern!)and work I just do not seem to have enuff time! It is all ready June 1st! So anyways here we go:

I know my sweet mate Calafin posted about the surprise last weekend? It was so hard keeping it a secret! I got up before he did and packed the van, then I woke him up and simply said "lets go for breakfast? " Cal had a puzzled look but he went along and never suspected a thing! We drove south and hit Alligator Alley, before he even spoke up and said "we won't be sleeping at home will we? " I just laughed as we headed east and eventually to Ft. Lauderdale!

We checked in at the resort, it is gay owned and fenced in the pool and such were clothing optional and heated ..murrr! We walked down the beach to Sebastian street, the gay beach, and set about swimming and even hugging and kissing in public! There were several coments but instead of being negative it was "awww" and " how sweet!" We spent sat night in our room..hehe fill in the blanks! Sunday we went back to the beach all day and then sun night I took Calafin to a wonderful first class restaurant! They treated us like royalty and the server asked us some questions and I told her it was our honeymoon of sorts and she said how sweet! We had some excellent wine, then 16 oz prime rib and mmmm something called ultimate chocolate ountain..warm cake and fudge and fresh vanilla ice cream murr!! The later part of that evening we spent nude in the pool in each others arms.

Monday morning came too fast as we had breakfast and headed home. But we did reach a renewed level of love and feelings that we had forgotten about in the hectic daily rush. If you are lucky enough to have a mate, a lover, a companion, NEVER take them for granted!

So we got home to find that all the over the counter flea bombs and such have had little effect, sigh, I called an exterminator he will be here tomorrow. It has apparently been a very bad year for them and ticks, must be the heat and dryness.

Last night we went fursuit bowling with Taku's mom. It was a blast! Its so hard to bowl in suit but fun! After one game we desuited and I kicked butt! Here are some pics!

Hi everyone..so does anyone read this any more? just curious is all!

So an update..lesse..work is going ok, I am learning more accounting and the joys of that program Quickbooks . Though all the drivers say they appreciate me being there since now there is someone in the office that knows what it is like out on the routes and can deal with problem customers.

The new fursuits are coming along quite nicely, I never thought I would be able to use a sewing machine but with some coaching I sure am learning and I find that it is a very relaxing hobby and helps me to bond even more with our pet Taku.

On a personal note, I had chipped/cracked a tooth a while back and simply did not have the money to have it taken care of. Well it impacted and became infected so yesterday , with Calafin and Taku and his mom all insisting I go to the dentist. I went. one word..OUCH!
The one had indeed impacted but also the one right next to it had cracked and the filling was coming out. I had a choice, he had to pull the infected one and could try and save the other with a root canal but the cost would have totalled about $1200 !!! So I said nope can't do that so he pulled BOTH! I am swollen and have 6 stitches in my gums, but thank goddess for pain pills! The final cost was about $400, which is better I suppose. The pain will subside as I heal and I go back on Monday to get the stitches out..*sigh* and he told me I have cavities in the next two teeth that need attention..to which I replied "well I guess I can either do that or eat and pay rent and bills" so what do you think won out?

Anyways Iam still alive ,still very much in love with my 'phin and very happy and lucky to have a wonderful pet dwaggy , and his mom here..who btw is also a furry!

Hiyo:

How has everyone been? My new job has proven quite challenging, learning the inside operations of the business, payroll accounts receivables..wow so a computer can be used for more than chatting and video games..who knew? Well at least I am not the only new one, I am doing A/R and she is doing accounts payable and we split everything else. I had done accounting before ; just not on this scale. I am mainly responsible for all the drivers reports and commissions so they all get paid properly and as a former driver I know what it is like :) But I am enjoying myself..mostly:)

I have an hour commute every day now and it is along a very congested and busy overused highway and it seems that lately noone here in Florida knows how to drive, knows what courtesy is nor even how to use a simple turn signal!The accident rate is amazing and Im surprised there aren't more! I watched an idiot in bumper to bumper traffic cut in and out and clip someone on the bumper and keep on going! sheesh!

On the home front as Calafin mentions our pet takumori's mom is here now and living with us..murrrr she is a furry and a great cook and just awesome to g have around..there would be so much less emo if everyone had a mom like her!

ok so here we go...

There has been so much posted about FC and so much online there is little point in my adding to it. Suffice to say it was actually the honeymoon for Calafin and myself, since our wedding back in October. I loved flying United (pun intended!), they were so efficient with our luggage and fursuits and my medicines. We arrived checked in and were the first suiters. Suffice to say the week went fast, met so many new furs and old friends(Hi Windy!) , so much fun. Then all too soon it was over, Monday we went to Chinatown had real chinese food, then Tuesday a farewell dinner with Keiko and Evoquus, then wed back home.

Did Laundry all day thurs and fri, shopping etc and vegged out on Sunday..then last Monday started my new job.Well still with the same company I have been with for 6 years just I got promoted into the office. I am the new office manager (in training) and wow is it ever different! First of all the hours..8 to 5, with an hr lunch..whats a lunch? Heheeh when I delivered I ate on the fly and worked early mornings! I am learning all the accounting procedures, receivables, commissions, wow..but I needed a challenge and change.

I come home a bit brain fried for now and not wanting to be online since I watch a cmputer all day but the others in the office are so nice and helpful!

Cal brought me some special chocolates an early valentines ..the sweety! I love him so much!

Taku is doing excellent on my route I am so proud! His mom should be here soon so it will get even more exciting!

enough said!

There is no story, no plot, all done in a mimic of the blair witch project (which was done much better!), the hand held video camera , bouncy to the point of feeling nauseous!

Of course all the hype is the monster..well there is a great budget for that, and all the explosions and such but that is where the money was spent! You do eventually see it and its rather impossible to describe, at the end is a nice long slow close up view as it sniffs and then devours one of the main characters..prolly the best part of the whole movie!

So if you need to see it ..try a budget matinée, dont get fooled !

Ok so its s Sunday and we leave on Wednesday..whooot!

Action packers are ready, fursuits cleaned, partial suits finished, anything else..hmmmmm..

ok question..

For the action packers, last 2 years we use TSA locks and last year they got broken. I have heard that if you zip tie them shut and enclose more zip ties, if they get opened the TSA will re secure them? Any comments/experiences?

We leave Tampa on wed morning, 8 am, united airlines flight 1471, arrive in Denver at 9 50 , layover until
1140, then united flight 245 to arrive in san jose at 1 20!

Look out here come da cetaceans and their dwaggy pet!
